57.ª edición de los Premios Grammy

La 57.ª edición de los Premios Grammy se celebró el 8 de febrero de 2015 en el Staples Center de Los Ángeles,^[1]​ en reconocimiento a los logros discográficos alcanzados por los artistas musicales durante el año anterior. La ceremonia se transmitió en vivo por la cadena CBS como anfitrión a LL Cool J.^[2]​ Las votaciones fueron realizadas por los miembros de la The Recording Academy en los meses de septiembre, octubre y noviembre de 2014. El 5 de diciembre de 2014 las nominaciones fueron anunciadas, correspondiente al periodo de elección del 1 de octubre de 2013 al 30 de septiembre de 2014.^[3]​

Ceremonia Pre-transmisión

No todos los Grammys se entregaron durante la transmisión en vivo. Como en ediciones anteriores, la mayoría de los galardones fueron entregados durante la llamada ceremonia previa a la transmisión por televisión celebrada en el Teatro Nokia junto al Staples Center, que tiene lugar durante la tarde antes del espectáculo principal. Desde 2015, esta ceremonia se conoce como la Ceremonia Premiere.^[4]​ Aproximadamente 70 premios Grammy se entregaron en esta ceremonia.

Cambios

Como es habitual, habrá una serie de pequeños cambios en el proceso de votación y de la adjudicación:

Nuevas categorías y cambios menores de nombres.

La mejor interpretación de raíces americanas es una nueva categoría en el campo correspondiente al género raíces americanas. Será presentado a los creadores de la mejor interpretación en este género, que incluye (raíces o regionales) de América del Norte tradicionales estilos musicales como el cajun, zydeco, polca y otros. Otra nueva categoría es el mejor álbum de raíces gospel en el campo del gospel, para los álbumes del gospel en los estilos musicales antes mencionados, incluyendo la música gospel tradicional del sur.

Cambios en las categorías de gospel.

El género gospel es redefinido para hacer una distinción más clara entre la música gospel tradicional y el estilo conocido como la música cristiana contemporánea (CCM). Como se mencionó anteriormente, la categoría el premio al mejor álbum de raíces gospel es nuevo. Las categorías correspondientes al gospel ahora se conocen como: mejor interpretación / canción gospel, mejor interpretación / canción de música cristiana contemporánea, mejor álbum gospel, mejor álbum de música cristiana contemporánea y mejor álbum de raíces gospel.

Samples permitidos.

Por primera vez, el uso de samples y/o interpolaciones de otras obras en una nueva pista se permitirá en las distintas categorías dedicadas a los compositores. Hasta ahora, sólo se permitían los samples en la categoría de mejor canción rap, pero estos son ahora también elegible en canción del año, mejor canción de rock, mejor canción R&B, mejor canción country, mejor interpretación / canción gospel, mejor interpretación / canción de música cristiana contemporánea, mejor canción de raíces americanas y mejor canción escrita para medios visuales.
