Metal Massacre es una serie de compilaciones lanzadas por Metal Blade Records famosas por dar a conocer a bandas como Slayer, Metallica, Overkill, Trouble y más.

Historia

En 1981, Brian Slagel, fundador de Metal Blade Records, decide hacer un recopilatorio de bandas underground sin disquera. Durante 1980-1990, se siguieron lanzando más volúmenes hasta Metal Massacre XII lanzada en 1995. En 2006 se lanza Metal Massacre XIII que a diferencia de las primeras compilaciones, éste contiene bandas de Metal Blade Records.

El primer tiraje de Metal Massacre fue de 4.500 copias que se agotaron rápidamente en una semana, fue todo un éxito ya que los fanes iban a la disquera a buscar el material, lo que ocasionó que se siguiera editando esta recopilación.^[1]​
