Biografía

En agosto de 2018 recibió su maestría en teatro y cine de la Universidad Dongguk en la Escuela de Graduados de Artes Culturales.

Es muy buen amigo del actor Jung Woo-sung. Ambos son copropietarios y co-inversionistas en varios negocios.^[3]​^[4]​

En el 2003 comenzó a salir con la actriz Kim Min-hee, sin embargo la relación finalizó en el 2006.

En enero del 2015 confirmó que estaba en una relación con Lim Sae-ryeong, la hija de un inversionista en Corea del Sur.^[5]​

En julio de 2021 se anunció que se había sometido como mediada de prevención a una prueba de COVID-19, después de que uno de los productores y un miembro del personal de producción de la película "Hunt" fueran diagnosticados con el virus. Aunque sus resultados dieron negativos, siguiendo las indicaciones del gobierno y como medida de prevención se puso en cuarentena.^[6]​

Carrera

Cine y televisión

Es miembro y co-CEO de la agencia "Artist Company",^[7]​ la cual estableció junto al actor Jung Woo-sung en mayo del 2016.^[8]​ Previamente formó parte de la agencia C-JeS Entertainment del 8 de marzo del 2013.^[9]​

El 19 de mayo del 2007 se unió al elenco principal de la serie Air City donde interpretó a Kim Ji-sung, un agente del Servicio Nacional de Inteligencia, hasta el final de la serie el 8 de junio del mismo año.

El 11 de junio del 2009 se unió al elenco principal de la serie Triple donde dio vida al agente de publicidad Shin-hwal, el antiguo hermanastro de la joven aspirante a patinadora artística Lee Ha-ru (Min Hyo-rin), hasta el final de la serie el 30 de julio del mismo año.

El 20 de diciembre del 2017 se unió al elenco de la película Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds donde interpretó al dios de la muerte, Rey Yeomra.

El 1 de agosto del 2018 se unió al elenco de la película Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days donde volvió a dar vida al dios de la muerte, Rey Yeomra.^[10]​

El 14 de junio del 2019 se unió al elenco principal de la serie Chief of Staff donde interpretó a Jang Tae-joon, el competitivo asistente principal de un congresista con una fuerte intuición y juicio, hasta el final de la serie el 13 de julio del mismo año. Papel que volvió a dar vida durante la segunda temporada, hasta el final de la serie el 10 de diciembre del mismo año.^[11]​^[12]​^[13]​

En el 2020 se unirá al elenco principal de la película Deliver Us From Evil.^[14]​^[15]​

Ese mismo año se unirá al elenco de la película Wiretap donde interpretará a Ko Chang-sun.^[16]​

Así como al elenco principal de la película Namsan, donde también es el productor.^[17]​

Aunque en diciembre del mismo año se anunció que estaba en pláticas para unirse al elenco principal de la serie Delayed Justice donde podría interpretar al poco sofisticado pero talentoso periodista Park Sam Soo. Luego de que el actor original Bae Seong-woo fuera retirado de la serie, luego de que el equipo de producción decidiera sacarlo, luego de verse envuelto en un accidente automovilístico bajo los efectos del alcohol.^[18]​^[19]​^[20]​ Sin embargo el 20 de diciembre del mismo año, se anunció que el actor Jung Woo-sung había sido elegido para reemplazar a Seong-woo.

El 17 de septiembre de 2021 se unirá al elenco principal de la serie Squid Game (también conocida como "Round Six") donde dará vida a Ki-hoon.^[21]​

Otros negocios

Además de la actuación, Jung-jae es conocido por lanzar una cadena de restaurantes italianos de lujo en Seúl que llevan el nombre de su película "Il Mare".^[22]​

En el 2008 fundó la empresa de desarrollo inmobiliario "Seorim C&D".

En mayo de 2016 junto con el actor Jung Woo-sung establecieron el sello de entretenimiento "Artist Company".
