Los columbimorfos (Columbimorphae) son un clado de aves que contiene a los órdenesColumbiformes (palomas), Pteroclidiformes (gangas) y Mesitornithiformes (mesitos), establecido a partir de los resultados de los análisis genéticos.[1] Los análisis anteriores también apoyaban un agrupamiento similar,[2][3][4] aunque las relaciones cercanas exactas diferían. Algunos estudios indicaban que la relación más cercana era entre las gangas y las palomas (la opinión tradicional),[5][6][3] mientras que otros estudios indicaban que la relación más próxima era entre los mesitos y las gangas.[4][1]
