Pramipexol (Sifrol®) (Mirapex®)CAS 104632-26-0, es un agonistadopaminérgico no-ergolínico indicado en el tratamiento en la enfermedad de Parkinson (PD) y el síndrome de Wittmaack-Ekbom (RLS).[1] Se usa a veces off-label como tratamiento para dolor facial vasogénico y en los problemas con disfunción sexual experimentados por pacientes tratados con antidepresivos (SSRI).[2] Pramipexol ha demostrado efectos robustos en estudios piloto y estudios placebo-controlados en trastornos bipolares.[3] Se está investigando para el tratamiento de la depresión clínica[4][5][6][7][8][9] y la fibromialgia,[10]
El Pramipexole es considerado un agonista específico del receptor dopaminérgico D2/D3 y produce un aumento de dopamina y serotonina en áreas frontales.[11]
