Theodore Lothrop Stoddard (1883-1950) fue un historiador, publicista y abogado estadounidense, defensor del supremacismo blanco y representante del racismo científico.

Biografía

Nacido en la ciudad estadounidense de Massachusetts en 1883,[1]​ era hijo del escritor John L. Stoddard.[1]​ Fue escritor, abogado[2]​ y eugenista.[3]​ La obra de Stoddard, defensor de la supremacía blanca[4]​ y representante del racismo científico,[5]​ estuvo influida por la de Madison Grant y compartía rasgos con la de Joseph Arthur de Gobineau.[6]​ Llegó a viajar a la Alemania nazi donde pudo, además de conocer al propio Hitler, entrevistarse con Himmler o von Ribbentrop.[7]​ Falleció en 1950.[8]​

Fue autor de trabajos como The French Revolution in San Domingo (1914),[9]​[10]​ Present-day Europe, its National States of Mind (1917),[11]​[12]​ Stakes of the war (1918)[13]​[14]​ The Rising Tide of Color Against White World Supremacy (1920),[15]​[16]​ The New World of Islam (1921),[17]​[18]​ The Revolt Against Civilization: The Menace of the Under-Man (1922),[19]​[20]​ Racial Realities in Europe (1924),[21]​[22]​ Scientific Humanism (1926),[23]​ Re-forging America: The Story of Our Nationhood (1927),[24]​ Master of Manhattan: The life of Richard Croker (1931),[25]​[26]​ o Into the Darkness (1940),[27]​ entre otros.
