Eugene Lyons

Eugene Lyons (Uzlyany, 1898-Manhattan, 1985) fue un periodista y escritor estadounidense, de origen ruso.

Biografía

Nacido en 1898,^[1]​ en Uzlyany, Imperio Ruso,^[2]​ era judío.^[1]​^[3]​ Emigró de joven, con sólo nueve años, a los Estados Unidos.^[1]​ Defensor inicialmente de Revolución rusa y la Unión Soviética,^[1]​^[2]​ una estancia en esta entre 1928 y 1934 le hizo desilusionarse con el régimen comunista y convertirse en un crítico de este,^[2]​ siendo descrito como un autor anticomunista.^[4]​

Autor de obras como Assignment in Utopia (Harrap, 1938),^[5]​ The Red Decade (Bobbs-Merrill, 1941),^[6]​ Herbert Hoover, a Biography (Doubleday, 1964),^[7]​ David Sarnoff: A Biography (Harper & Row, 1966)^[8]​ o Workers' Paradise Lost (Funk & Wagnalls, 1967),^[9]​^[10]​ entre otras, colaboró en publicaciones como The American Mercury o Reader's Digest.^[2]​ Falleció en Manhattan, Nueva York, el 7 de enero de 1985, a la edad de ochenta y seis años.^[2]​
