Laia Alegret

María Laia Alegret Badiola (Huesca, 12 de octubre de 1975) es una paleontóloga española. Profesora titular de la Universidad de Zaragoza, en 2019 fue nombrada correspondiente de la Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales de España.[1]

Biografía

Alegret Badiola es graduada en Geología por la Universidad de Zaragoza desde 1998 y en 2002 obtuvo el doctorado con premio Extraordinario.[2]​ Entre 2003 y 2005 fue investigadora posdoctoral en la University College London, y regresó a Zaragoza en 2005 con un contrato Ramón y Cajal. Desde 2010 es profesora titular del Departamento de Ciencias de la Tierra de la Universidad de Zaragoza. Ha participado en varios proyectos nacionales e internacionales de investigación, liderados por instituciones de gran prestigio, como el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts (MIT).[3]

En 2017 fue seleccionada para una expedición que investigaba en Zelandia, «el octavo continente», las claves del cambio climático.[4]

Distinciones

En 2019 fue nombrada correspondiente nacional de la Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales de España.[5]
